Customizing a jOrgan Pup Disposition with your settings

The jOrgan Pup dispositions are all setup to use the jOrgan Keyboard on MIDI Channel 1 by default. In order to use your MIDI devices to play the jOrgan models you will need to customize them to your particular hardware. Use the following steps to create the configurations needed:

Checking that your MIDI hardware has been loaded by Puppy Linux

  • Open Jack's Connections and click on the ALSA tab

  • Your hardware MIDI devices should be visible in the left side column

  • Close the Jack Connections window

Customize jOrgan

  • Start a jOrgan disposition (right click to access the Menu, then Multimedia -> Media Tools -> jOrgan [disposition name]

  • In the jOrgan top menu, click on File -> Customize...

  • Configure the Device and MIDI Channel of each division as per your MIDI hardware

  • Click on 'Next'

  • Configure your Switches and Swell/Crescendo Pedals

  • Click on 'Finish'

  • Test your settings

  • If everything works as expected, click on the 'Save' icon to save your changes in the disposition
