This function allows jOrgan to assign different identification numbers to external devices (such as MIDI keyboards)

which may possess identical model numbers. To a large extent it replaces any need for the jOrgan Midi merger.

It is particularly relevant whenever a number of MIDI devices are plugged into various USB ports, whether they

be in a USB hub or in a computer. In such cases a special protocol needs to be observed in the manner in which

USB cables are plugged into the appropriate ports. Rick Whatson has produced a pdf document describing this
