Samples
Subjects "bookmarked " from other pages are highlighted.
Hardware and software samplers need samples for sound generation.
Soundfont format
A wikipedia:Soundfont is a sample format from Creative Labs / EMU. The following Soundfonts can be used with many software samplers:
Bruce Mile's English Organ and Cinema Organ Soundfonts
Kent Allman's Symphonic IV Soundfont
Kent Allman's Universal VTPO Soundfont Project
* Currently only these two websites are still accessible. Go to “Shared Dispositions” for the list of the dispositions made freely available by jOrgan users. Each of these dispositions contains soundfonts, which are a ready source of samples. A soundfont editor is needed to retrieve them. (For those with a Creative Sound Blaster card - Vienna, otherwise Viena, or Polyphone.)
Gigasampler format
The Gigasampler format is the sound format of the wikipedia:proprietary software Giga Studio. But it is also supported by the Linuxsampler. Free samples of organ sounds are available from:
Universal VTPO Giga Studio Sound Files Project
Worra's Place - Free Giga Samples
Currently neither of these websites is still accessible.
